- Robert Millikan was born in Morrison, Illinois- Robert Millikan was the first to prove the existence of electrons and accurately describe their charge. He proved this by isolating a single droplet of oil in an apparatus and finding out that the charge of the electron is 1.60 × 10⁻¹⁹ C.
