- Democritus was born in Greece and lived from 460 BCE to 370 BCE
-Democritus thoerized that all physical things were composed of atoms. He proved this theory by saying that if a stone is cut in half, it is still a stone, and if you keep splitting the stone, at one point you will reach an indivisible point of that stone where it can no longer be split.
-This theory was rejected by even Aristotle
