1 ene 1923 año - The Occupation of the Ruhr, 1923-25

Descripción:

The Occupation of the Ruhr was a military occupation of the German Ruhr valley by France and Belgium from 1923 - 1925. This invasion happened because Germany were not keeping up with their reparation payments which was agreed in the Treaty of Versailles after WW1.

Coal was taken from the Ruhr to repay the depts. that Germany was in. The workers at the Ruhr were told by the Weimar government to passively resist. This meant the workers would not fight the invaders but refused to work and did not help the French and Belgium take the coal.

This worsened Germany's economic crisis because coal from the Ruhr was Germany's main source of income. The consequence of the
occupation of the Ruhr was hyperinflation.
