3 feb 1870 año - 15th Amendment

Descripción:

The 15th amendment states that no one can be denied the right to vote based on race, color, or servitude. The Civil War has brought on a lot of thought about the rights of freed slaves, they are now protected under the law and considered equal citizens. Once Ulysses S. Grant was elected as president, republicans deemed it necessary to protect black male voting rights. The amendment became part of the constitution on March 30. This amendment is important because it gave blacks the right to vote and allowed them to be elected in public office.
