During British Gen Pre'vost march from Savannah toward Charles Town took him up the Old Charles Town road very close to Butler's Plantation owned by Patriot Gen Pierce Butler. Pre'vost ordered his King's Rnager and Loyalist Militia to loot and burn the plantation on the way to Coosawhatchie.
