President Abraham Lincoln was assassinated by John Wiles Booth while attending a play at Ford's Theatre. Booth was an open Confederate sympathizer during the war. A supporter of slavery, Booth believed that Lincoln was determined to overthrow the Constitution and to destroy his beloved South. Booth's original plan was to kidnap Lincoln and use him as ransom but when he failed multiple times he decided to shoot him instead.Añadido al timeline:
