1 ene 1916 año - The Great Migration

Descripción:

During the first World War, many factories and industrial areas were experiencing labor shortages which incentivized the so-called "Great Migration." The Great Migration was the migration of millions of black people from the south to the north in order to seek better careers and move away from harsh segregation laws and prejudice. The Great Migration impacted black culture in numerous ways. While the north wasn't as dangerous for African American individuals there was still a large presence of racial prejudice that affected the black community, as a result, many black people established their own towns within larger cities which led to the development of black culture within America.
