1 ene 1198 año aC - Hattusa Destroyed
Descripción:
The Hittite capital Hattusa was destroyed by fire after being looted. It appears that the domestic area was left untouched leaving a confusing picture of who the attackers were. Ramses III says that they were unable to withstand the Sea Peoples. The Kashkas to the north are also likely culprits. Interrupting trade, drought, and famine could have also led to uprisings just as easily as they could have weakened the Hittites to outside forces. Around this time many Hittite cities are abonded.
