January, 2004 – Sam starts skipping school. Running home after his mum has dropped him and gone to work. He stays in his room all day. The housekeepers keep his secret and dote on him. Comfort eating all the time. Skipping football practice too.

13th January, 2004 – The school inform his parents about him skipping school and not showing up to football practice. Called in for a parent/teacher conference. When they ask Sam why, he just shrugs, too ashamed to admit why. At home, Benjamin yells and screams at Sam and locks him once again in his room. Downstairs, Sam listens to his parents fighting; breaking things.
