Starts Year 4 at Ravenswood Primary School, Heaton, Newcastle.

He’s put on a lot of weight over the summer and his father – who doesn’t want a fat son – pushes him into joining the football team. Sam hates it.

James is in his second year at Manchester Business School, Simon starts another year the Football Academy in Stamford, and Joe in his Fifth Year. Alex starts his First Year at Hillside Academy.

September/October, 2003 – Sam is bullied relentlessly by his brothers and his peers on his football team because he’s chubby and not very good at football. His football coach is a bully too, makes him run laps until he’s sick. Sam starts faking sickness to stay off of school but a lot of the time, Riley drags him there since she has a job. He’s miserable.
