1 ene 1932 año - Model of the Atom: Protons and Neutrons (Chadwick)
Descripción:
James Chadwick was a British physicist who discovered the existence of neutrons in an atom. In Rutherford's atomic model, he only displayed the electrons around the nucleus and the protons in the nucleus but the positive charge didn't contain enough mass to make up the nucleus. In one of his experiments, Chadwick set a direct stream of beryllium atoms with alpha particles and unknown radiation was produced. He ascertained that this radiation was formed with a neutral electrical charge, similar mass to the protons, which we now know as neutrons.
