1 ene 1861 año - Women During The Civil War [1861-1865]

Descripción:

(Women's actions, halting the suffrage protests but briefly)

Women were not allowed to bear arms during the war, and even so; within disguise they were actively involved and even fought in the frontlines.

The end of the war brought the collapse of both the Confederate government and slave society, and while freedom created a new commonality between the races and between women and men, it challenged them to redefine themselves and their society. In the words of diarist Lucy Buck from Front Royal, “We shall never any of us be the same as we have been.”
