Sally Ride was hired by NASA 20 years after Valentina Tereshkova. She was a assistant and researcher at Stanford, she then became apart of one of three mission specialists. The mission she was on also became the first to have 5 crew members. She became a flight engineer at NASA, where she helped the team in making 3 other satellites.
