Astronauts Frank Boman, James Lovell, and William Anders became the first to complete a lunar orbit. The flight was the first to be picked up by the Moon's gravitational field after exiting Earth's gravitational field. It was also first to launch the rocket known as Saturn V. These men were the first to actually see the "dark side" of the moon, and the whole Earth.
