6 ene 1903 año - Menshevik and Bolshevik Parties are Formed

Descripción:

Lenin’s followers gained power and eventually a majority in the central committee. When this happened, they called themselves the “Bolsheviks,” meaning “Those of the Majority.” The Bolsheviks would seize power in Russia in the October Revolution (October 1917). Both the Bolsheviks and their opponents (the Mensheviks) sided with one another during the Russian Revolution of 1905, their differences became more and more evident after that event.

Julius Martov and his followers opposed Lenin, and were the minority party in the central committee. This gave them the name “Mensheviks” meaning “Those of the Minority.” They believed that the Proletariat could not win over a Bourgeois revolution.
