27 ene 1665 año - Robert Hooke - Discovery of the Cells.

Descripción:

In 1665 the first description of cells was made by Robert Hooke. He did so by making a thin slice of cork from the bark of a tree and examined it under a microscope he made himself. Robert saw that the bark was made oh hundreds of little 'empty boxes' that gave a honeycomb appearance. He called the boxes Cells. Hooke was looking at empty dead cells, not living cells. When he later looked at fresh plant tissue, he noted that cells appeared to contain water. A few years later. Marcello Malpighi produced more detailed descriptions of plant cells.
