12 h 4 abr 1764 año - The Sugar Act The Sugar Act of April 5, 1764 was the first attempt from Britain to raise income from the Colonies. They passed this act in Parliament to try to get the Colonists to cut down on smuggling. So they placed a tax on imported goods such as sugar and molasses.
