22 h 5 m, 3 mayo 1961 año - Freedom rides were organised in the South, organised by CORE and the SNCC. Bus restroom facilities was desegregated in 1961, and it was a test to see if the states was to enforce the legislation. Buses were attacked and firebombed, and black and white protesters were beaten up at bus stops. It, again, sent a message of the shocking violence against black civil rights.
