POV changes to Lore, a sea captain on a trade ship that exports goods, particularly recreational drugs, from Adderash and Mahigni to East Hermeria, Nulnor and Orania. He was told he was taking refugees and prisoners to Nulnor. They were actually slaves. When he discovered this he covertly started freeing slaves and bringing them to safety in Orania, Adderash, and Mahigni. He runs into Regy at the bar who's causing a scene trying to raise awareness of the "underground" slave trade. Lore, who had met Regy on multiple occasions due to their similar trade routes tells him to stop talking. He explains that it is the government that was using slavery.
