He was best known for his inspirational speeches such as "I Have a Dream." He was arrested for participating in a protest and boycott. He was a co-pastor and had a wife and children. His house was bombed and he was constantly ridiculed but he was never violent or hostile to his harassers. He was assassinated after one of his speeches.
