The Japanese emperor announced Imperial Japan’s surrender on September 2, 1945, bringing WW2 to a close after a little over 6 years. During WW2, The pesky United States was conducting tests with the intention of creating a nuclear bomb, the project was aptly named the Manhattan Project.

During the year of 1945, with the support of the UK and Canada, the United States have successfully created the first nuclear weapon. On August 6, 1945, at 8:15 AM local time, the United States detonated an atomic bomb over the Japanese city of Hiroshima, a few hours after, American president Harry S. Truman called for japans surrender once again. Following Russia’s declaration of war against Japan, violating the Soviet-Japanese Neutrality Pact, the Units States dropped the second atomic bomb onto Nagasaki.
