About Seeing Bruises
on Her Face

A resident living in Amber Heard’s Los Angeles’ apartment complex tells PEOPLE that when he spoke to the actress on May 31, he noticed, “definite bruising” on the right side of her face.
In a signed affidavit, Heard, 30, alleged that Depp was verbally and physically abusive during the entirety of our relationship. She also alleged that Depp threw his iPhone at her face on May 21, hitting her in the eye during an argument at their home in downtown L.A. Heard then filed a restraining order against her husband.
According to the neighbor who is friendly with the actress, he says he was leaving the building when he spotted Heard talking to her friend Raquel Pennington and went to give her a hug and say hello.
“As soon as I go to hug her she recoiled and winces and that’s when I saw some bruises on her right cheek,” says the neighbor. “I didn’t want to stare too much but there was discoloring and her cheek was pink and purple by the cheek bone.”
Heard’s neighbor says after seeing the bruises he asked how she was doing to which she replied “I’m ok” before quickly changing the subject and asking him about his grandfather who had been ill.
The neighbor, who has never seen Depp at the residence, added that he has also seen a recent change in Heard’s demeanor.
“She was always with a smile on her face and has been an extremely friendly neighbor,” he tells PEOPLE. “But lately she is definitely more somber.”
