On May 11, 1865 the last battle of the civil war was fought. About 300 Union men had come to fight on this battle and 200 men were recruited at the last minute for the Confederacy. The Union scattered around the confederates base and when a reasonable size of men showed up, the fighting commenced. The Confederates pummeled the Union with a line of artillery which made the Union retreat ending the last battle of the civil war.
