Descripción:

Charles Darnay, after receiving a letter from a servant of the Evremondes, returns to France to find him and rescue him from the angry revolutionaries. Darnay himself is captured, and spends over a year in prison.

Doctor Manette is able to get Darnay a trial, because of his influence, though it comes more than a year later. This strengthens Manette's self-confidence.
