Mrs. Casey yelled A LOT. She had very strict rules, and people walked on eggshells around her. She didn’t like to hear people’s explanations for any misbehavior she just disciplined. It was the one time I was ever sent in the hall as punishment, and it was for something I didn’t do. She mistook me for the person sitting next to me, but it didn’t matter, and I knew there was no point in arguing with her. She would also write people’s names on the board when they were misbehaving, and they would get checks each time she had to talk to them again until there were harsher punishments. I remember one kid being in trouble literally everyday of the year. Looking back, that was obviously not effective (the kid did not care, it solved zero problems) and it is definitely not a classroom management tool I want to use. This year I also met Chelsea, who would turn out to be a great friend (to present time).
