When news of the treaty was first announced to the public by the Press, the people of the UK were outraged. Some took to the streets to start protesting against the outrageous terms that Germany had placed on their allies.
In France, it was a different story. The government had given heavy backlash as the citizens said that the cabinet had betrayed them and their country, a stab in the back.

But in Germany, it was another story. In Berlin, Leipzig, Bremen, Breslau, München, Wien, Düsseldorf, Nürnberg, Köln, Essen, Frankfurt, Dortmund, Hamburg, Danzig and Königsberg, people of Germany began marching down the once silent streets and, for the first time since 1919, the German people felt proud and joyful.
Loud drums and horns began playing as the national anthem of the Reich echoed throughout all of Germany and possibly the world.

As the music continued in Germany, the Führer stepped out of the Reichstag building after announcing the victory over the west, as he walked out of the building with the other politicians, many people had said that when the Führer was out in public; they could see a slight smile on his face.
