Alton finds out that Dryden has a son. This surprises him but he just assumes that he took advantage of his role as chosen one to get some girl. He begins watching Caleb out of curiosity to see what will become of him.

He Considers the possibility that Caleb will be a valuable asset in his search for immortality so he begins to puppeteer things into position for Caleb to succeed.
