The Elder Generation is the first generation of 100 colonists. 100 colonists is the maximum amount the scientists and caterers aboard Oceania could take care of before their supplies ran out. The elder generation would be raised and taught to raise and care for the generations after them, activating each generation in an interval of 5 years.
