Johnny Depp, the Council of Fashion Designers of America’s pick for their Fashion Icon Award, displayed his unusual style sensibilities during a surprise cameo at Revolver’s Golden Gods 2012 Awards last night.Many fans in the audience at L.A.’s Club Nokia didn’t take notice of Depp — wearing a feathered, turquoise beaded black fedora, a short-sleeved shirt and jeans — until Marilyn Manson shouted to audience, “If you don’t recognize my personal friend… my personal savior, my personal guitar hero, Johnny Depp!”
Depp appeared to be having a blast playing guitar. The 48-year-old, who began his career in a rock band before turning to acting, thrilled the crowd by playing guitar with Manson during his famous cover of Eurythmics’ “Sweet Dreams” and his 1997 track “The Beautiful People.”
