May 28th, 1830
Descripción:
The Indian Removal Act, signed by President Jackson forced all Native Americans living on the East Coast out of their native land. They were rounded up and sent on a 1,000 mile march to modern day Oklahoma, a barren land nothing like their own. Many Natives lost their lives on the journey, and the conditions of the march were inhumane, for which the infamous act was nicknamed "The Trail of Tears".
