17 h 32 m, 6 mar 1857 año - Dred Scott vs. Sandford Mar. 6th, 1857 (decision)

Descripción:

In the historic supreme court case Dred Scott Vs. Sanford, the plaintiff, Scott, who was a slave, sued his owner for his freedom on the grounds that the two had spent years practicing medicine in free northern states and that since they weren't in states where slavery was legal, he should be freed. The court ruled in favor of the defendant, claiming that since Scott was not a "citizen" and was rather property, he could not sue his owner for freedom.
