1 ene 1651 año - Navigation Acts 1651

Descripción:

The first Navigation Act was passed by the British to restrict trade in the colonies. The acts forced goods from the colonies to be exported or imported on British ships, and required goods being imported to the American colonies from other countries to pass through British ports first. Imports of commodities like tobacco and rice also had to be taxed before proceeding to the colonies. These acts reflected the British idea of mercantilism, which sought to keep all economic gains from the colonies in the hands of the British and exert their naval superiority.
