The Black Death, or Plague pandemic began, killing between 75 and 100 million people. This was extremely significant because it taught us how to apply restrictions to reduce the spreading of diseases. Patients were isolated and treated (in old-fashioned ways), which have dramatically improved since. The Plague helped us to invent new treatments for diseases and new techniques to stop spreading.
