- As the white section filled up, Rosa was ordered to move.
- She refused to move, so she was arrested and fined in court.
- African-Americans organised and decided to boycott (refuse to use) the bus service for over a year in peaceful protest.
- Federal court ruled that segregation on buses was against the US Constitution, reversed the law on 20th December 1956.
