Stock prices had been falling and people were pulling their stocks. On Black Thursday a total of 12,894,650 stocks were tradered and the people were panicing. In an attempt to stabalize the stock market investment companies and bankers bought large chunks of stock but by Black Thursday the stock market was in freefall and stock prices had completley collapsed, billions of dollars were lost and many investment companies were wipped off the map. Stockprices rose slighlty but most never got past 20% percent of their worth during the summer of 1929.
