17 h 44 m, 22 mar 1765 año - The Stamp Act

Descripción:

The Stamp Act was an act put on the Colonists by the British Parliament. It was the first direct tax on printed items such as newspapers, legal documents, magazines, playing cards, etc. The Colonists were taxed in order to raise money for the British to pay for their troops that were stationed in North America after their victory in the 7 years’ war. This was very significant because the Colonists were very upset by this because they believed that the British shouldn’t have had the right to tax them. They were so angry that they began to organize protests against this act.
