The photographers were Jean-Francois Robert Olivier Vigerie and the official photo shoot took place at the Royal Hotel immediately before the City Of lies red carpet.

Jean-Francois Robert's wrote on Instagram: ‘Johnny Depp for Telerama. Really nice to see him again.’ Telerama is a French Magazine that released a version of the France 24 interview with Johnny and Brad Furman about producing City Of Lies.

Olivier Vigerie shared a little bit of the behind the scenes experience with Johnny Depp on his Instagram: ‘Johnny pass by for a 2 minutes Photoshoot asking me "Hat? No Hat? Face? No Face?" | said Hat and no Face...Simply Johnny Depp. Thank you, Johnny Depp.’

He also wrote: ‘It's the second time I photograph Johnny Depp but this time it was a 2 minutes shooting in the Royal Hotel of Deauville just before the Red Carpet. All the people keep asking me how he is. All I can mention is how kind and what a gentleman he was. It's interesting how beautifully he presented. How gentle he came across as I wonder how he lived through such fame and adulation and still he kept to his core demeanour. His behaviour on this picture reflects this. A thin red line between a Hello and I want to hide myself. I say to him that I wanted to be a portrait photographer to live moments like this and he hugs me. Well done I say to myself. I feel humbled and impressed. Thank you, Johnny Depp.’
