Aafia and her three kids leave their home in Karachi, Pakistan to head to the airport to visit Aafia's uncle in Islamabad. On their way to the airport, Aafia and her three kids are kidnapped.

A spokesman for Pakistani interior ministry initially confirmed that Dr. Aafia Siddiqui had been arrested in Karachi, Pakistan, and handed over to the U.S. authorities. Another ministry of the interior official said Pakistani intelligence agencies had interrogated her but her links with Al Qaeda could not be established.

The "FBI denies having Aafia in custody and says they are still searching for her. Initially, the FBI claimed Pakistan had Siddiqui -- and then suddenly they changed their minds.

"She is not in custody," said John Iannarelli, a special agent with the FBI's national press office, and was "certainly not being interviewed by the FBI ... We're still looking for her."
