13 h 9 m, 27 feb 1933 año - Reichstag Fire

Descripción:

Hitler, although holding substantial political power, still is a fair distance away from his goal of absolute authority. Opportunity arose for Hitler when an arsonist set the Reichstag building on fire. Communists became the scapegoat for the event as Hitler framed them with the Nazi Propaganda Machine, turning the public against communism. Hitler’s consolidation of power completed when the communist party backed out as they boycotted elections and Reichstag sessions. Hitler passed the Reichstag Fire Degree and Enabling Act, allowing him to rule with absolute authority. The Nazis, now free of shackles and all political oppositions, reformed Germany with their own nationalistic, racist ideals; creating state-owned enterprises, a police state, and introducing a set of anti-Semitic regulations called the Nuremberg Laws. Attempts to rearm and put Germany on “equal footing” with Western European nations, came with the cost of civil rights, justice, and morality. Germany became a militaristic, nationalist, and dangerous nation, one of hatred and intolerance towards other ethnicities. Hitler and the Nazis took necessary measures to achieve lebensraum, and their ideals of racial purity for Aryans. Hitler’s unregulated power brought about a devastating catastrophe to the world, causality of tens of millions of soldiers and citizens, loss of billions of dollars of financial property, leading to permanent changes in terms of territory, global powers, and reflected upon modern pop cultures in terms of cinema, literature, and clothing trends.
