With the events of England in 1066 over, the end of the Viking Age was marked. By then, the majority of the Scandinavian kingdoms were Christian, and what remained of Viking culture was absorbed into the culture of Christian Europe. Nowadays, signs of the Viking legacy can still be found in Scandinavian origins and the places they settled in.
