1 ene 1880 año - New Immigrants

Descripción:

During the Gilded Age, a second wave of immigrants arrived from mainly Southern and Eastern Europe. Nationalities of the immigratns include Italian, Russian, and Slavic. These new immigrants were frowned upon by nativists and some of the immigrants that came from Eastern Europe. The new immigrants were less literate, not used to democratic governments, and were mainly Jewish or Catholic. They tended to cluster in big cities where they shared culture and language with others. This new work force helped the nation's economic success and the growth of capitalism.
