Created first continental congress in response to the British Parliament's enactment of the Coercive acts in the colonies.
The first session occurs in Philadelphia with 56 delegates from all the colonies except Georgia.
Elected Peyton Randolph as the first president of congress.
The continental congress served as the government for the colonies. One of the major things they did was made military preparations in case the British attacked.
