On July 14th, 1789, an angry mob swarmed a prison- the Bastille- in an effort to get weapons and ammunition that they believed was stored in the prison. When the governor refused to comply and let them in, they broke in and, after a violent battle, eventually took over the fortress.Añadido al timeline:
