Descripción:
In 1711, Thomas Newcomen invented the steam engine. This engine wasn’t very sustainable as it used a lot of coal and was very big but it helped mining greatly. This steam engine operated up and down and was only used to pump water out of flooded mines. This was important as now miners could keep working even if the mine was flooded as the machine could dry up all the water. This steam engine then led to other steam engines which were better than this one since men had learnt from the mistakes. This steam engine connects greatly to the industrial revolution as steam power was finally being use, this meant that trains, steam boats and other movement materials could be used.
In other parts of the world, many wars were happening like the battle of Villaviciosa in Spain.
