In 1966, Huey Newton and Bobby Seale founded the Black Panthers to secure and protect black rights through any means necessary. Founded in the wake of the assassination of MX. The Black Panthers organized armed patrols of black neighborhoods to protect citizens from police violence. They also provided community help, such as education, tuberculosis testing, legal aid, transportation assistance, ambulance services, and more. They drew on a lot of Marxist ideology as well.
