This was when about 100 people from the joint stock company founded the first English settlement in North America. The three english ships that landed in North America, called the Susan Constant, the Godspeed and the Discovery, set sail in december of 1606 and would land in April of 1607. They then set up the first english colony in North america. At first they struggled to grow but soon they set up trade with the natives there and figured out how to harvest the necessary food.
