A series of reforms enacted by the Franklin Roosevelt administration in his first 100 days in office with the goal of ending the Great Depression. FDR wanted to help the "forgotten man" instead of businesses. Slogan was "relief, recovery, and reform" meaning job programs, economic programs, and protection against corruption, respectively. First thing FDR does is call a bank holiday, shutting down all banks and preventing people from withdrawing money to stop bank run. Then calls congress in a special session and passes the programs on the following card.

Started a bunch of "alphabet soup" programs that created jobs and provided relief, such as the:
FERA -Federal Emergency Relief Administration- Gives 500 mil to states who use the money to employ jobless people in state projects
CWA -Civil Works Admin- Same thing but federal gov. Projects included various infrastructure construction.
AAA -Agricultural Adjustment Act- help farmers by establishing price controls and supply chains. Supplies training and tools to farmworkers. Actually pays farmers to destroy crops to stop price depreciation.
CCC -Civilian Conservation Corps- Hired young men to work on building trails, hotels, lodges, dams etc in natural areas and national parks. Also planted trees to stop dust bowl.
