Limited the number of immigrants allowed entry into the United States through a national origins quota. Said that 2% more of each race could come in based on numbers in the 1890s, but more immigrants from Western Europe in the first place, therefore more could enter under the 2% quota. Excluded all immigrants from Asia and anyone in the so-called "Asiatic Barred Zone." Made the Japanese pretty pissed. Was in place until 1952. Also hindered Eastern and Southern Europeans from entering the US.
