Democrats run William Jennings Bryan. He supports workers, silver standard. Uses some populist policies. Supported break up of monopolies and a universal income tax. Drew a lot of support from the working class, especially farmers. Lost to Republican William McKinley. Mainly because he got huge funds and campaign support from big businesses. No cap on donation amount then. More factory workers went for McKinley too.
