The gov wanted to sign a new treaty with the Cheyenne in Colorado to give up more of their land. Were conflicted about whether to sign or not. Meanwhile military leader John Chivington urged Colorado settlers to move against the "dangerous" Cheyenne. He and 700 militiamen attacked a Cheyenne camp and killed 200.Añadido al timeline:
